buchholz relay / gas detector relay
This device is an important component of the transformer protection philosophy. It detects the gas accumulation formed by the oil degeneration in partial discharges, and disconnect the transformer in large faults due to the oil flow caused by internal electrical short circuits and arcing.
The Buchholz Relay is normally connected in a chain with the piping that interconnects the main tank to the transformer’s oil expansion tank, in this manner, the gases produced inside by eventual intermittent or persistent malfunctions tend to move into the expansion tank through the interconnecting piping. The Buchholz Relay then captures and retains this gas in its chamber where a relay mechanism will be activated after the gas build-up has reached a certain level, which in turn, activates the alarm contact float. (1st Level).
our standard line
Each relay is calibrated, simulated and tested within the values specified in all international standards. In addition all of ours relays are equiped with magnetic shield and are seismical-proof.
We have lots of different configurations as contacts disposal, body size, connections . Contact us for further information.
